Actually, I understand it just fine.  The more money you have, the more likely you are to have more stuff.  The more stuff you have, the more you have to worry about securing it, maintaining it, etc.  Money can bring happiness to an extent, but beyond a certain point, the amount of stress it brings can outweigh the happiness.
